Please join us for a special Members’ evening celebrating Cooking with Eric Carle, on view September 20, 2025 – August 23, 2026. This exhibition explores Eric Carle’s career through the perspective of food and features more than 50 works dating from 1965-2019.

Enjoy a butterfly-inspired grazing table created by Fed by Foley, music from local trio BR413, and a visit to the exhibition. A 6:30 pm conversation will be held in the Auditorium between Associate Curator Isabel Ruiz Cano and literary agents Lisa and Sally Ekus of The Ekus Group, a boutique culinary division specializing in cookbook and lifestyle titles.

Isabel joined The Carle in 2022. As Associate Curator, she is committed to fostering curiosity about picture book art across all ages.

Lisa Ekus

Lisa Ekus is the founder of The Ekus Group, a full-service culinary agency. She recently retired after running the company after 41 years, turning over the business to her partner and daughter, Sally Ekus. She sees food as the common denominator that brings family and friends together. The Guinness Book of World Records awarded Lisa the honor of holding the largest personal cookbook collection in the world.

Sally Ekus is a Senior Literary Agent at JVNLA where she spearheads The Ekus Group, a boutique culinary division specializing in cookbook and lifestyle titles. Sally also hosts an online community called How to be a Cookbook Author and writes the bestselling Substack Newsletter, Not So Secret Agent.
