Join Raúl the Third for an exciting read-a-long of his latest El Toro and Friends book Tough Times. The rookie Kid Toro hasn’t won a match in a long time. He loses to every wrestler he fights, from Al “the Crane” Scorpio to Prickly Pear to Burrobot. It feels like he’ll never win again! Luckily, his coach, Ricky Raton, won’t let him give up so easily. 

Learn how to draw some of your favorite El Toro and Friends luchadores and get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Tough Times!

Raúl the Third

Raúl The Third is a New York Times bestselling and three-time Pura Belpre award-winning illustrator, author, and artist living in Boston. Vamos! Let’s Cross the Bridge was awarded one of the year’s Best Illustrated Children’s Books of 2021 from the New York Times and the New York Public Library. His work centers around the contemporary Mexican-American experience and his memories of growing up in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
