Special Storytime with Carrie Anne Vanderhoop: Sharing Gratitude for the Seasons

Carrie Anne Vanderhoop is from a lineage of Haida weavers – the daughter of Evelyn Vanderhoop and granddaughter of Delores Churchill from the Gawa Git’ans Massett Inlet Eagle Clan of Old Massett. Her father, David Vanderhoop, is Aquinnah Wampanoag from Noepe, commonly known as Martha’s Vineyard, where she grew up. She now lives on Haida Gwaii. As an educator, Carrie Anne hopes this book will foster in young people a connection with the natural world- the forests, ocean and sea shore – and respect for the original stewards of the land, the first peoples of Turtle Island.
