Growing Every Which Way But Up: The Children’s Book Art of Jules Feiffer

Jules Feiffer has made a breathtakingly varied contribution to American cultural life as an artist and writer. The Carle honors his efforts as a children’s book creator with this exhibition. Book-ended by his collaborations with Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth (1961) and The Odious Ogre (2010), the exhibition focuses on Feiffer’s own books including By the Side of the Road (2002) and Bark, George (1999).
