Micha Archer

Micha is an artist, illustrator and educator living in Western Massachusetts. A world traveler, her sense of color and pattern is influenced by the folk art, crafts, and architecture of the world. Working with gouache, watercolors, pen and ink, and collage, she creates layered pieces from various materials on paper and digitally.

Ekua Holmes

Ekua Holmes is a fine artist whose work explores themes of family, relationships, hope, and faith. The first children’s book she illustrated was Carole Boston Weatherford’s Voice of Freedom: Fannie Lou Hamer, which was a Caldecott Honor Book and a Robert F. Sibert Honor Book and for which she won the John Steptoe New Talent Illustrator Award.

Oge Mora

Oge Mora is a collage artist and storyteller. Her picture book, Thank You, Omu!, was a Caldecott Honor, Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Award winner, and Ezra Jack Keats Book Award recipient. Mora is a fan of all things colorful, patterned, or collaged, and enjoys creating warm stories that celebrate people coming together.

Melissa Sweet

Melissa Sweet has illustrated over 100 books as well as toys, puzzles, and games. Her work has been in magazines, on greeting cards and as drawings on her living room walls. She has received numerous awards including two Caldecott honors: A River of Words: The Story of William Carlos Williams and for The Right Word: Roget and his Thesaurus, both by Jen Bryant.

Artist Ed Young

Ed Young

Ed Young is the illustrator of more than ninety books for children. He finds inspiration for his work in the philosophy of Chinese painting. In 1990, his book Lon Po Po was awarded the Caldecott Medal. Young has been nominated twice for the Hans Christian Andersen Medal.
