Join us for a special midday program celebrating the new CLICK! Photographers Make Picture Books exhibition and the artists behind it.

At 11:00 am, enjoy a curator-led tour with renowned children’s literature historian Leonard S. Marcus, featuring an engaging conversation about the exhibition and a lively Q&A opportunity.

Immediately following the tour, beginning around 11:45 am–12:00 pm, guests are invited to meet participating artists during a book signing session.

Participating Artists/Authors include: Nina Crews; Saxton Freymann; Susan Kuklin; Leonard S. Marcus; Shelley Rotner and Charles R. Smith, Jr.

This is a unique opportunity to gain deeper insight into the exhibition and connect personally with the artists whose work continues to shape the world of picture books.

Who You'll Meet

Leonard S. Marcus

Leonard S. Marcus is one of the world’s leading writers about children’s books and the people who create them. A founding trustee of The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, he is the author of Pictured Worlds, an international history of the illustrated book for young readers.

Nina Crews

Nina Crews has written and illustrated many energetic stories for young children. She uses photographs and photo collages to create distinctive illustrations. Her work has been recognized by the ALA Notable Committee, Cooperative Children’s Book Council, Junior Library Guild, and Bank Street College of Education.
