In 2012, Laura Briggs wrote a piece for Lori Rotskoff and Laura Lovett’s book, When We Were Free to Be: Looking Back at a Children’s Classic and the Difference It Made. In the article, Briggs addressed how having the album on permanent repeat as a child was helping her learn to be a better parent to baby Jackson.

Now, she and her 14-year-old son, Jackson Briggs-Nye, will share how feminism and learning together on how to confront gender stereotypes have helped Jackson grow into a freer and happier kid.
