Little Books, Big Feelings: Picture Books and Social Emotional Learning (2 sessions)
What stories do we tell to create safe and supportive learning spaces?
(3 PDPs) In this workshop we will consider how we can use picture books to help young people identify and manage emotions, navigate relationships, and cope with difficult situations. Participants will explore books that address various SEL competencies, consider how these books reflect their experiences inside and outside of the classroom, and learn emotionally responsive practices for engaging children in shared reading experiences.
This is a 2-day session, taking place September 14 and 21 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
