Little Books, Big Feelings: Picture Books and Social Emotional Learning (2 sessions)

Online Program

$34 Members

Note: Workshop is full.

(3 PDPs) In this workshop we will consider how we can use picture books to help young people identify and manage emotions, navigate relationships, and cope with difficult situations. Participants will explore books that address various SEL competencies, consider how these books reflect their experiences inside and outside of the classroom, and learn emotionally responsive practices for engaging children in shared reading experiences.

This is a 2-day virtual session, taking place March 5 and 12 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm EST

A limited number of workshop spots are free for preschool teachers and elementary teachers in Title 1 Schools through The Carle Community Fund. Scholarships are awarded at random and offered on a quarterly basis. Application deadline is January 15.

We work to provide accessible programming. If you need accommodation to participate in this program, please contact Natalie at We ask that requests are sent at least five business days in advance of the program so we can make arrangements. Thank you!
