Special Storytime: Nadia Salomon & London Ladd

Boston native Nadia Salomon is an award-winning journalist who holds a journalism degree from Emerson College. She is the author of Goodnight Ganesha, a Bank Street Best Children’s Book and an ALSC Día Selection. A Voice of Hope is her latest release. It received the 2019 SCBWI WOOP Honor Award for work of outstanding progress. She works closely with SCBWI, 12x12 Challenge, Kids Comics Unite, and Storyteller Academy. London Ladd is a prominent illustrator who has received recognition from the American Library Association, Parent’s Choice Awards, Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, American Illustration, and World Illustration Awards and has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award. London has illustrated numerous critically acclaimed books, including Black Gold (HarperCollins, 2022), My Red, White, and Blue (Penguin, 2023) andYou So Black (Denene Millner Books, 2023), as well as newspapers, magazines, and community-based murals. His work is characterized by a unique mixed-media approach, combining acrylic paint, cut paper, and tissue paper to create vibrant depictions of diverse subjects. London is currently an adjunct professor at Syracuse University. He resides in Syracuse, NY.
