Join author-artist Lauren Stohler for a very silly reading of her new book The Crown: an Epic Tale of Fools, Fate, and Fish Butts! Then you’ll use your voting powers to decide what to do next: Will we have fun with a draw-along? Or decorate our own ballot box? The will of the people will prevail!

The Crown: an Epic Tale of Fools, Fate, and Fish Butts is about a peaceful village and a mysterious box that has appeared outside the gates of a castle. Inside the box is a crown and some instructions (well, one instruction): Whoever has the crown makes the rules! NO exceptions! This leads to a dizzying tug-of-war (literally) between the king, the villagers, some fish butt–addicted alligators, and one very, very large orange dragon—all of whom believe the crown and the power were rightfully theirs. Needless to say, the peaceful village? Yeah, not so peaceful anymore!

Lauren Stohler

Lauren Stohler (sounds like stole-her) is the authorstrator of the Gnome and Rat series, which Publishers Weekly called “delightfully lively.” Her picture books include The Best Worst Poet Ever, I Am a GREAT Friend, and most recently The Crown: an Epic Tale of Fools, Fate, and Fish Butts, which Kirkus Reviews called “irreverent, silly, and hilarious.” Lauren loves dogs, parades, science museums, games, and LOTS of pizza.
