What a Circus! The Art of Etienne Delessert

February 8 - June 5, 2011
East Gallery

This retrospective of Etienne Delessert surveys his distinguished career of more than eighty picture books, collectively translated into fourteen languages. From his early collaboration with Eugene Ionesco to surreal and politically charged interpretations of Big and Bad and Humpty Dumpty, Delessert intrigues readers with his imaginary creatures and landscapes.

This exhibition was organized by the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, Abilene, Texas.

The exhibition was sponsored in part by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia.
