Join The Carle and Authors Against Book Bans (AABB) for a full day of programming to celebrate our freedom to read in recognition of Banned Books Week 2024 (September 22-28).

The Massachusetts state leaders of AABB (Colleen AF Venable, Federico Erebia, Michelle Cusolito, and Jarrett Lerner) will serve as MCs for the day. Other best-selling and award-winning authors in attendance include Lesléa Newman, Malinda Lo, Gayle Forman, Sarah Prager, Gwen Agna, Alex Graudins, Mk Smith Despres, and Shawn Peters.

Activities for all ages include: 

Noon - 5:00 pm - Postcard and Button Activity (Art Studio)

1:00 - 2:00 pm - Celebrate The Freedom To Read: Picture Books (Auditorium)

2:00 - 2:30 pm - Special Storytime: Banned Books Week (Reading Library)

2:30 - 3:30 pm - Celebrate the Freedom to Read: YA and Middle Grade (Auditorium)

Book signings to follow each program. Can’t make the event? You may reserve signed books online.
