Drawing Differences at the Mead
Free
Have you ever worked on a portrait of yourself or a loved one, but gotten stuck when it comes to drawing your hair, features, or skin color just the right way? Do you wonder how race shows up in the art you make?
Join us at the Mead Art Museum (Amherst College) for a free, all-ages conversation and art-making event with Raúl Colón, Oge Mora, and Grace Lin in the galleries of Re/Presenting: Art Beyond the Color Line, an art exhibition inspired by EmbraceRace’s “Drawing Differences” art lessons. Bring a portrait you’re working on and/or come ahead to draw one using materials at the Mead and get tips from the artists. All ages welcome. Registration recommended.
This event is presented in collaboration with EmbraceRace, the Amherst Jones Library, and The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
Register to attend! The first 50 registrants will receive a Flayvors ice cream gift card!
