Special Storytime: Gwen Agna and Shelley Rotner

In their photographic picture book, True You: A Gender Journey, authors Gwen Agna and Shelley Rotner offer a celebratory and informative look at kids and their wide-ranging gender identities. With the permission of their parents, the children in True You were recorded and transcribed by authors Agna and Rotner as they were photographed. Their powerful testimonials paired with a spare narrative and vibrant, joyful portraits offer up a humanizing and moving exploration of kids and how they feel about their true selves.

Joining Agna and Rotner for storytime are some of the children photographed for the book. The authors will also share their motivation for creating True You, and answer questions from the audience.
