Join author Robert Broder as he reads from his new book Better than New: A Recycle Tale / Mejor que Nuevo: Un cuenta de reciclaje. Set in a Chilean fishing village, the story follows two friends who help a sea lion in trouble and learn about ocean pollution and recycling. Kids will have a chance to see and feel a real fishing net and learn how it gets recycled into clothing, hat brims and skateboard decks.

Robert Broder

Robert Broder is a creative director, author, and librarian, and former publisher of Ripple Grove Press. His popular children’s books include Crow and Snow and Our Shed: A Father-Daughter Building Story. Better Than New is his fifth children’s book. His passion for children’s literature goes back to when he was a pre-k teacher, reading books and making up stories for kids.
