Curator Tour

Margi Hofer is an independent curator specializing in American material culture. As museum director of the New-York Historical Society from 2015 to 2023, she guided a dynamic exhibitions program. As the Historical Society’s curator of decorative arts for more than two decades, she organized dozens of exhibitions on topics ranging from Tiffany lamps to Black dolls. Margi was recently appointed executive director of the Coby Foundation, which supports museum projects related to textiles and the needle arts.
